Crafting Comfort Amidst Alpine Beauty This bench is more than just a piece of furniture; it’s a testament to craftsmanship and an enhancement to one of New Zealand's most treasured landscapes. A Generous Donation This beautiful bench was kindly donated by Brian Carter, an early member of the Whanganui Tramping Club. Established in 1952, the Club has grown to approximately 250 members and continues to foster a love for tramping and the great outdoors. Historical Roots and Recent Improvements The Mangaturuturu Hut, built around 1956 by Club members and officially opened in 1958, is a cherished site for many. It has seen numerous trampers pass through its doors and has undergone significant improvements in recent years to ensure it remains a welcoming shelter.
